Insomnia and getting the sleep you need

If you have ever suffered from lack of sleep you know only too well that it totally devastates your life. We've been sleep deprived to the point of exhaustion and we know that it's impossible to keep going like that.

It's no wonder sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture!!

We are all supposed to spend around a third of our lives in sleep but it is getting harder and harder to get it.
Busy minds, stressful lives, snoring partners and hormone stuff can all get in the way and mean we can't GET to sleep or STAY asleep.

The good news is there are some things you can change to make this better. 

Make sure that you are taking care of your sleep patterns and they will take care of you. This includes your daytime patterns AND your bedtime rituals. Good sleep is part of a 24-hour rhythm and bad food choices, no water, sitting all day and high stress are all part of your good or bad sleep picture.

Here are a few easy hacks

  •       Your bedtime routine needs to be soothing and relaxing.
  •       Your room needs to be cool, dark and quiet
  •       Keep away from nicotine, caffeine and alcohol before bed
  •       Put the tech away
  •       Keep your wake-up time the same even on the weekends
